The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised As Freedom

The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised As Freedom
DAVID KUPELIAN'S CULTURE-WAR BESTSELLER IS NOW AVAILABLE IN PAPERBACK! Millions of Americans today accept ideas and behaviors that would have horrified all previous generations. Why? Why have thousands of years of Judeo-Christian moral standards suddenly been abandoned? What's behind today's divorce epidemic? Why is public prayer being criminalized? Why are 3,000 innocent unborn children aborted daily? In this widely acclaimed expos, veteran journalist David Kupelian reveals the brilliant marketing strategies that have turned America upside down. "Within the space of our lifetime, much of what Americans once almost universally abhorred has been packaged, perfumed, gift-wrapped, and sold to us as though it had great value. By skillfully playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity, and tolerance, these marketers have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which every other generation has regarded as grossly self-destructive--in a word, evil."

The Elitists

The Elitists

The year is 2046. Following World War III, the only nation remaining on Earth is the United States. A civil war, however, left the United States fractured, with the newly emerged Madison Legacy and Outliers opposing the United States.

Elitist Mystifications and the Vagueness of 'Common Interest Perspective' of the Au in the Global Order

Elitist Mystifications and the Vagueness of 'Common Interest Perspective' of the Au in the Global Order
The AU is re-created out of its old body, the OAU, to be able to make the continent to effectively face the 'multifaceted challenges' posed by globalization . However, contrary to the AU's long established belief, the cultural assertiveness by many groups in Africa in response to many discontents of globalization is unnoticeable threatening the imagined unity of African countries. This work demonstrated, 1. How such reactions to the new global order could affect the 'common interest perspective' of the AU and how the AU (ECOSOCC) would respond to this challenge. 2. How alternatives to such threatening scenarios offered by the AU like the 'African personality' which is wholly accepted as the unifying force among all African people are elitist and intellectual inventions which are what break the contract between African people and the AU (PAP).

The Beverly Hillbillies: The Official Second Season

The Beverly Hillbillies: The Official Second Season
An instant hit, the rural comedy was the ultimate fish-out-of-water story. The Clampett family strikes it rich in oil and move from their mountain cabin in the Ozark Mountains to the upscale neighborhood of Beverly Hills. Each hilarious episode revolves around the culture clash between the "uncivilized" Clampetts and the "civilized" culture of their elitist neighbors.

Friends Divided

Friends Divided
From the great historian of the American Revolution, New York Times-bestselling and Pulitzer-winning Gordon Wood, comes a majestic dual biography of two of America's most enduringly fascinating figures, whose partnership helped birth a nation, and whose subsequent falling out did much to fix its course.

Thomas Jefferson and John Adams could scarcely have come from more different worlds, or been more different in temperament. Jefferson, the optimist with enough faith in the innate goodness of his fellow man to be democracy's champion, was an aristocratic Southern slaveowner, while Adams, the overachiever from New England's rising middling classes, painfully aware he was no aristocrat, was a skeptic about popular rule and a defender of a more elitist view of government. They worked closely in the crucible of revolution, crafting the Declaration of Independence and leading, with Franklin, the diplomatic effort that brought France into the fight. But ultimately, their profound differences would lead to a fundamental crisis, in their friendship and in the nation writ large, as they became the figureheads of two entirely new forces, the first American political parties. It was a bitter breach, lasting through the presidential administrations of both men, and beyond.

But late in life, something remarkable happened: these two men were nudged into reconciliation. What started as a grudging trickle of correspondence became a great flood, and a friendship was rekindled, over the course of hundreds of letters. In their final years they were the last surviving founding fathers and cherished their role in this mighty young republic as it approached the half century mark in 1826. At last, on the afternoon of July 4th, 50 years to the day after the signing of the Declaration, Adams let out a sigh and said, "At least Jefferson still lives." He died soon thereafter. In fact, a few hours earlier on that same day, far to the south in his home in Monticello, Jefferson died as well.

Arguably no relationship in this country's history carries as much freight as that of John Adams of Massachusetts and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia. Gordon Wood has more than done justice to these entwined lives and their meaning; he has written a magnificent new addition to America's collective story.

Michelle Obama in Her Own Words

Michelle Obama in Her Own Words
The election of Barack Obama has brought worldwide attention not only to what his policies will be, but to what kind of First Lady Michelle Obama will be. Throughout the long campaign season, Michelle Robinson Obama garnered a good amount of attention, kudos and criticism about her words, actions, even her appearance, but few people know what kind of role she will play once she settles into the White House. One clue is to examine her words and statements of the past, and the proposed book Michelle Obama In Her Own Words will show readers who are eager to learn more about America’s new history-making First Lady. Michelle Obama In Her Own Words will be a book that contains 200-250 quotations arranged in approximately 75 different categories. A short introduction and biography of the new First Lady will precede the quotes. Drawing on quotations from a variety of newspaper and magazine articles, transcripts, speeches, and TV interviews and profiles, the quotations date from Michelle’s career as a high-powered corporate lawyer in Chicago and her high-powered executive jobs in the Chicago Mayor’s office and at the University of Chicago, up through the election of November 5th, 2008. Rogak locates and organizes the funny, fascinating, inspiring (and occasionally controversial) words of our future First Lady, on topics such as:

• Abortion
• Affirmative Action
• Balancing career and family
• Barack’s safety
• Being compared to Jackie Onassis
• Her childhood
• Her critics
• Her fashion sense
• Hillary Clinton
• Iraq
• Racism
• Rev. Jeremiah Wright
• Sarah Palin
• Terrorism
• The “elitist” tag
• The Presidential campaign
• The role of the First Lady
• Women who have influenced her
